About us

Kapius is a private investment company with a long-term perspective

  • 1

We invest family wealth from experienced business people into medium-sized companies.

  • 2

The aim is to help companies grow in a sustainable way.

  • 3

Our role is to support companies in achieving their goals by supplying capital and know-how.

  • 4

We draw on years of experience with family-run businesses and equity investments.

  • 5

We act pragmatically, discreetly, transparently and enthusiastically in our mutual endeavours.

Approach

Medium-sized businesses
Sectors
Management
Duration of involvement

We invest in small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in German-speaking countries.

The companies have the ability to differentiate themselves from the competition thanks to their solid positioning. The companies offer clear growth prospects. Due to our independent structure, we are flexible in how we acquire shareholdings, whether they are from retiring partners, from capital increases or from succession strategies. Minority stakes are also an option. The companies typically generate sales of between €5 and €50 million, depending on the business model.

We have a wealth of experience in various industries.

We want to bring our experience to the following fields in particular:

  • Industry and mechanical engineering
  • Brands and retail
  • Services

Restructuring and financial recovery processes have as little to do with our focus as start-up funding and pure project financing.

People make the difference.

We want to work together with skilled executives and employees, supporting and challenging them. In questions of succession or appointments to leadership positions, we can draw on a significant Network.

We work with a long-term outlook.

We are not bound to holding periods or term restrictions and can therefore invest for the medium to long term and develop companies strategically. Along with organic growth, targeted company acquisitions can also be a way to sustainable growth.

Philosophy

A partner-like approach based on trust

show

We want to work together respectfully with our partners, whom we can trust and who place a similarly high value on a trust-based approach to their activities. This is because trust is the best foundation for developing an organisation together using smart processes and systems.

Enthusiasm in our mutual endeavours

show

Success is important to us. We want to enjoy the road towards success – enjoyment in terms of the work itself, but also with regards to the collaboration with our partners.

Transparency, clarity and certainty

show

We are transparent towards our partners about our actions – and expect this transparency to be mutual. Clarity in our goals and certainty in our actions are in our view a fundamental basis of a successful collaboration.

Sustainability

show

We integrate environmental and social principles and a corresponding management philosophy into our actions and place value on developing our companies in a sustainable manner.
